haxeVideo 1.0

Posted on 2007-12-16 by Nicolas Cannasse in General

At last, haxeVideo 1.0 has now been officially released !

haxeVideo is an opensource video streaming server entirely written in haXe.

You can get it now from http://haxevideo.org !

Features include :

  • FLV streaming using RTMP protocol
  • Webcam and Microphone recording to FLV file
  • Live streaming for web conferencing
  • light and fast scalable server
  • only 50 KB of server source code : modify whatever you need !

Big thanks to the Red5 team and Roberto Saccon for helping me when I had trouble with RTMP implementation !

And I hope you'll enjoy the opening test video ;)

Hey Nicolas,

This is great. So, what was the problem, in the end, with regard to cut off streams? I'm guessing Luke Hubbard or one of his cronies had the answer? Those guys really understand streaming video in Flash.

Do you have any other plans for haXeVideo, or is this the end of your roadmap thusfar?

There's still a few things that needs to be done for 1.1 :

- complete Shared Object support
- properly notify the client of stream termination
- some timing issue for seek/resume operations

Hello,

I've been searching for days for an open source solution to embed a streaming webcam into my site (like you do it through justintv, stickam, ustream or any other website of that sort - except I wanted everything on my own server)

I found you on the osflash site. Unfortunately I am very new to this and I don't understand much. Is there a detailed, step by step instruction manual where I can learn how to properly set everything up?

Or - is there anyone out there willing to help me out with this project by either teaching me how to do it or - even better - install haxevideo on my server (I would, of course, pay for your services)

Thank you,
Ben

Hi Ben, I can help you, but for your project and if you don't plan to use the Haze language is better to install Red5. Contact me at cdevia --(at)-- imaginacolombia.com
